The Glasgow Community Watch is a program that is composed of concerned citizens
willing to take a proactive approach to reducing crime and bringing the community closer
together. The GCW is made up of several committees that are designed to assist local law
enforcement and area residents with community concerns.
The Glasgow Community Watch is dedicated to assisting law enforcement with fighting crime in the community of Glasgow. We hope to
do so by getting every single resident involved with our watch program. We hope that along the way, we can make Glasgow a better place
to live by having patrols, window watches, community clean ups, reaching out to the citizens that live alone, and hosting events for the
young people of the community. We are determined to make a difference, and we will with the help of residents like you.

The purpose of the public meetings, held on the fourth Thursday of each month at the Squad building at 7pm,  is to inform you, the public,
how we all can fight crime and make this community a safer place to live. It is also an avenue for getting ideas and opinions from our
residents. Please feel free to voice your opinions and ideas as this is a community effort and all voices are welcomed.
The Youth Committee goal is to assist the area kids in finding good, wholesome, entertainment and to keep the them involved in
constructive activities while learning to contribute to society.  Activities like Pizza parties, Movie night, 3 on 3 Basketball, and other events
are being planned. The GCW also has McGruff Finger Printing Kits, and educational videos. The hope of the GCW is that 100 percent of
the area youth will participate and in doing so will reduce the "mischief" crimes that the young intend to be involved in and along the way
the young can have fun. The Youth Committee is always looking for new ideas and members. Anyone wishing to help us in serving the
young children of Glasgow is welcome.
The Beautification Committee seeks to make Glasgow a cleaner, more pleasing to the eye, place to live. They are doing so by
organizing quarterly clean up dates through out the town and by educating the public about the hazards of liter. Plans are being made to
"Adopt a Highway" on top of the normal beautification efforts. This effort assists law enforcement by encouraging the residents to keep a
neater place and take pride in their town. Studies show that if communities are kept clean, then the crime rate tends to drop.  As always, if
you are interested in helping out with the Beautification Committee you are always welcome.
The Fundraising Committee purpose is just exactly what is sounds like. Events like Cakewalks, Flea markets, Food Sales, are in the
plans and some have already been successful. The funds that are raised will go toward the efforts of the other committees and their
needs to be able to accomplish their respective goals.
If you would like to join any of these committees or you just want to help out for certain events please contact one of the following Captains
below. They will be happy to help you or guide you in the right direction. The Glasgow Community Watch welcomes and encourages
everyone to participate.
