Packet boat "Marshall"
This is the boat that carried the body of
General "Stonewall"Jackson from
Lynchburg to Lexington for burial in 1963.

This house was owed by B.G. Baldwin in
the 1890s. On the porch is his
father-in-law, George D. Edmunds.

Sallings house witch is on Fitzlee street.

The "Shacklings" use to stand beside
present day town hall. They held many
businesses over the years. In this photo
the Glasgow Bank was doing business

The original Glasgow Presbyterian
Church beside the Charlottesville
building. The Charlotteville building
served many purposes, all of the church
services was held there in the early
years and in 1938 it served as a
Temporary school house. It was also
apartments until it was torn down. Photo

The Rockbridge Hotel. Built in the
1893 during the Boom years it never
had a overnight guest. The night it
opened the economic panic of 1893 hit
the nation and it was closed before it
ever opened. It was later used as a
barn, and it was rented out as

The Baldwin-Echols Store or Masonic
Temple on fire in February of 1940. The
2nd and 3rd floor were completely
destroyed. The 1st floor now sits empty.
The last business to be housed there
was the Crossing Restaurant. Photo
