The Town of Glasgow provides water and wastewater services to its residents. Using wells
as our water source we treat, store and distribute over 7 million gallons of water each month
to our residential and commercial customers. Our wastewater plant treats an average of
over 200,000-gallon per day. One licensed operator is responsible for both utilities and all
the testing, documentation, and reporting associated with this essential service.
For residential use, water and sewer service costs $32.00 per month. This is a flat rate of
which $12.00 is for water and $20.00 is for sewer. No water bills are sent to residential
customers, but we will provide you with a payment card to help you remember that
payments are due on the first (1st) of each month. We also send out a quarterly statement of
account with the Glasgow Herald, our newsletter.
Town staff maintains the water distribution and sewer collection systems. They regularly
check our lines, but if you notice an overflowing manhole, or a water leak, we would
appreciate you letting us know. If you have a water leak or sewer blockage on your service
line you will need to contact a contractor to do this work. We would be happy to assist you
with the names of some local contractors who do this type of work.

Town Wins Water Taste Award
Rick Brown, Executive Director of the Virginia Rural Water
Association, attended the Town Council meeting in April
and presented to Mayor Blackburn an award recognizing
the Town’s water as being the second best tasting at a
contest held at the Association’s annual conference.
